We have an eclectic mix of food holidays this month celebrating everything from the rich, yolky goodness of eggs, to our love of deep-fried everything, particularly the french fry’s tasty rival: the onion ring. June 3rd: National Egg Day

Known as one of the most nutritious foods on the planet, eggs are extremely high in protein, vitamins, and healthy fats. We love that you can enjoy eggs in a number of cooking styles from scrambled, to over easy, hardboiled, and poached. However, we must admit that one of our favorite things to do with this tasty protein is let that yolky goodness run all over our food, making meals rich and flavorful. Try our Spicy Korean Pork Farro Bowl that is topped with a perfect sunny side up egg! Run your fork through the yolk, break up the whites, and mix the bowl together as the flavors combine.

June 18th: International Picnic Day

We are always supporters of taking our meals outside and enjoying the great outdoors. With International Picnic Day on the 18th and Father’s Day on the 19th, what better way to celebrate dad than with a surprise family picnic complete with transportable Chef’d meals? June 22nd: National Onion Ring Day

Fried to golden perfection, we’re so glad that onion rings have a day dedicated to all of their wonder and deliciousness. To honor this day, we’re indulging in one of our favorite recipes by Chef’d partner Chris Santos. The Ancho Caramel Glazed Pork Tenderloin is a great recipe for those that are a bit more advanced in the kitchen, and can make for a wonderful challenge for the novice chef. This meal features a “Dirty Steak” topped with a straight caramel sauce that’s paired with BBQ black beans and fried onion strings. Give it and try and let us know what you think!
